Bay gatherings for bus service continued Ridge

About 50 people gathered at the corner of third and Bay Ridge avenues on Tuesday evening, despite the time frisquet.Plusieurs were wheelchair, and greatly transported marcheurs.La most canes were old.

The crowd was gathered in support of a trial which supports MTA unfairly affected citizens life when it eliminated some 27 juin.La Ridge Bay, which is called a community retreat occurring naturally by planners, bus lines has a particularly high number of elderly and disabled.

Gentile, and State Senator Marty Golden filed trial, which will be heard Thursday morning in Kings County Court. She claims the MTA violated two acts: the Americans with Disabilities Act and the State of New York Human Rights Law.

Identified in pursuing bus lines include the Elimination of the weekend on 27 X and X 28, the Elimination of the uptown on X and X 38 37 service bus service and the Elimination of the B37.

"The extent of our deficit requires most reductions going forward, but we've listened to our customers and made changes to where we" MTA, President and CEO Jay h. Walder said in the statement. "We were able to take a number of cuts off the table but unfortunately, many cuts ahead will be painful.?

Residents expressed Bay Ridge concerns of the demonstration, chanting "no way, MTA.".Some detainees signs that read things like "if we have to pay more, we expect further service, not less," and "more $$ for fewer services is unacceptable."

Mary Gibbons, Bay Ridge resident, said that she used to be able to take the bus B70 directly on 3rd Avenue of Lutheran Medical Center, where she received treatment on his particular pied.étant reductions went into effect, however, the B70 has been redirected and she had to walk three blocks of his way to catch the closest route.

She was not sure, though, to the effect that the trial will be finally.

"But what can say you that?" she said. "You cannot fight City Hall.?

Allen Bortnick, who lives in the Bay since 1957, Ridge said that he spoke to the MTA back in February when the Organization held a hearing on reductions proposées.Il said that he did not believe that WADA has interest community in mind.

"The city as the MTA agencies they sit there and make their decisions, and they don't in your subject" he said.
