Former Brooklyn High School Basketball Player Charged

Jayvaughn Pinkston, a former Brooklyn High School basketball standout is charged with two counts of simple assault and?harassment?after allegedly getting in a fight outside a fraternity house at Villanova University, New York Post reports. Pinkston became angered when he was locked inside a laundry room while having a romantic encounter with a girl, eyewitnesses say. Allegedly a fraternity brother propped a chair against the laundry-room door.?”He [Pinkston] was [mad], but nothing became of it at the time. He was just yelling,” an eyewitness said. Pinkston waited outside for a ride and two fraternity brothers came out to taunt him, witnesses say. Pinkston allegedly turned and punched the first fraternity brother. Someone else presumably punched the second fraternity brother. Pinkston is a 6-foot-7 forward for Villanova University and was a McDonald’s All-American at Bishop Loughlin. The team opens its season tonight and will be without Pinkston.

Former Hedge Fund Manager Leading in NY Comptroller’s Race

The Associated Press reported that 56-year-old Harry Wilson, a political newcomer and former hedge fund manager, is leading Democratic Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli in the New York comptroller’s race, according to early reports. The comptroller is in charge of auditing state and local government spending and manages the public workers’ pension fund, said the AP.

OSU names former Stanford exec as new leader of information services

CORVALLIS - Lois Brooks, who led the University computer company for his 25 years at the University of Stanford, 11 has been appointed new vice provost for information at the University of Oregon State services.

As vice provost, she will oversee information network technology and infrastructure which is essential for learning activity dynamic search OSU and administration by the University students. With 40 million annual expenditure, information technology is a rapidly growing, complex and vital part of Oregon State University and its land grant mission.
