Conviction in Salon Shooting

A jury convicted Robert Crawford, 26 of murder in the second degree, four counts of assault in the second degree and one count of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, according to Empire State News. His accomplice Zaire Paige has already been convicted of similar charges. Both will be sentenced on December 13, 2010, and could face life imprisonment.

Paige and Crawford were responsible for shooting five people in a salon, killing one and injuring others, including an off-duty police officer. The shooting was in response to an earlier incident involving the man killed in the salon.

Suspect of Shooting Outside Donut Shop in Custody

A man was shot outside the Donut Shoppe at the corner of Avenue U and E. 15th St. in Homecrest early on Monday, Police and witnesses said. The victim, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at King’s County Hospital. Alkaaiti’s security cameras at the front of his store caught the suspect running into the stairwell to the elevated platform of the B and Q lines, the New York Daily News reported.

Brooklyn Man being indicted in a stray bullet shooting

Brooklyn boy Quayshawn Smith, 18 years old, was arrested today in connection with a stray bullet that struck a 10 year old boy while he was watching cartoons in his house, East New York, New York Post reports.
Smith was charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon by the police.Le boy survived the shooting.
