Avenue in Bed-Stuy is Renamed for Late State Rep

Thursday the Brooklyn City Council voted to co-name Jefferson Avenue, between Tompkins and Throop avenues, after the late Hon. Bertram L. Baker, who represented Bedford-Stuyvesant in the New York State Assembly for 22 years. He was the first black elected official from Brooklyn.

Bed-Stuy Bakery Uses Internet to Fundraise

Matthew Tilden, owner of SCRATCHbread, a bakery in Bed-Stuy, is raising $10,000 through a Web site Kickstarter. Tilden hopes to use the funds to expand from a wholesale restaurant and grocery to a ground-level retail. More on the Brooklyn Eagle

Bed-Stuy bakery uses the Internet to raise funds

Bed-Stuy Boy, 12, shot after the game

The New York Daily News reported that 12-year-old boy was injured shoulder walking home around midnight Sunday morning party.

Police do not know who shot the boy or why he was shot, according to the Daily News. According to the report, walking to the corner of Lafayette and Marcy Aves when he heard a gunshot and realized that he had been injured."He walked two blocks to the corner of DeKalb and birds Nostrand when there labeled by the police.

Wallbracketand logreports that a close case law enforcement official said the boy was not not a target of the shooting.

He was transported to hospital in Kings County and is in a stable state.

Gunfire exchanged to the Bed-Stuy Salon

A rest police officer killed and wounded a thief attempt in a salon hairdressing, Saturday evening, the reports of the State of New York Daily News. Winston Cox, 19, is wanted for attempted murder, police say.

Agent Ferris Jones of the NYPD Jamaica crime laboratory, Queens received her hair is at the entrance of Sabine on Franklin in Bedford-Stuyvesant avenue when a gunman entered demanding species and property.Ferris identified itself as a police officer and man fired at least three shots, injuring nul.Ferris returned fire with two towers, hitting the suspect at least once Daily News reports.

No arrests have been effectuĂ©es.Cox is suspected of wound in his arm right or thigh and carry a revolver.Il is described by the police as an African-American male, 5′7″, 140 pounds.

Police asked anyone with information to call the 1-800-577-TIPS to crime Stoppers hotline.
