Brooklyn Man Allegedly Tried to Coerce Son of Sex Offender

Simon Taub of Brooklyn was charged today with attempted grand larceny after allegedly telling the adult son of a convicted sex offender, Meyer Lebovits, that if he was not paid over $100,000 he would accuse him of sexually assaulting his son, according to the Brooklyn District Attorneys Office. Lebovits told the DA’s office about the threat, and the investigation resulted in Lebovits handing over $75,000 to Taub, who was arrested shortly after the transaction, reports the New York Post.
